| Arquitectural wealth
We must point out the important architectural
whole formed by the old Castell de Subirats
and
the Santuari de la Mare de Déu de la Fontsanta.

Castell de Subirats
|
The castle which gives the name to the region,
is located at the top of a hill at a height
of 304 m., at the south of Torre-ramona. Its
existence dates back to the beginning of the
10 th century.

Entrance to the Santuari
|
The sanctuary is located at the foot of the
castle itself and has its origin at the church
of Sant Pere de Subirats, also dating back
to
the beginnings of the X century. From this
architectural whole, one can observe an excellent
view of the landscape of the Penedès
and the mountains surrounding them, pointing
up, very specially, the massif of Montserrat
at the north.

Mare de Déu
de la Font Santa
|
We must also point up the medeval tower of La
Guaita de Can Llopart, the great Gothic-Renaissance
house
of Torre-ramona or the so called Torrota
del Moro
which in fact is a Roman tower of which only
the rests of a wall remain. We must also point
up
the Church of Sant Pau d’Ordal, which has
a Romanic origin, although it was significantly
modified
later.
