The region of Subirats, by being a go through area since the early times, favoured at the beginning of the nineteenth century by the inauguration of the road of Ordal, helped the formation of a series of logdings (Cal Sells and Can Ravella) where the stagecoaches which travelled to Barcelona or Tarragona usually stopped. They slept, ate and switched horses there. We can say the same of Sant Pau d’Ordal (Cal Pau Xic) where those who came from El Pla and towns around it toward Olesa or Begues, and the opposite direction, stayed for the night. This fact, even though with another purpose, has been strongly favoured lately. The hostelery of the region has benefited from this fact and great prestige dishes have arisen everywhere in the part and the region.
